Commercial Pilot Training in India After 12th: A Comprehensive Guide
Are you looking to become a commercial pilot in India after 12th? If so, this comprehensive guide will help you understand the requirements and courses available to you.
In India, commercial pilots undergo rigorous training and must meet stringent requirements before they can take to the skies. The process of becoming a commercial pilot starts with completing 12th grade. After that, aspiring pilots must obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
To obtain a CPL, a candidate must have completed 10+2 of the senior secondary school exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. After passing the 12th grade examination, the candidate must then complete a three-year-long Commercial Pilot Training Course. This course is available in various aviation institutes in India and involves practical and theoretical training.
The first stage of the training is the Ground School, which includes a comprehensive study of the topics related to flying. This includes aircraft aerodynamics, theory of flight, navigation, radio communications, meteorology, aircraft systems and safety, and air regulations. It’s important to understand that passing the Ground School alone is not sufficient to become a commercial pilot.
The next step is the Flight Training, which is divided into two parts: the Primary and the Advanced Training. During the Primary Training, candidates learn the basics of flying, including pre-flight preparations, control and coordination of the aircraft, slow flight, and takeoffs and landings. The Advanced Training covers more complex topics such as instrument flying, navigation, night flying, and emergency operations.
In addition to the Ground School and Flight Training, aspiring commercial pilots must also pass a Medical Examination and a DGCA-approved Examinations. The Medical Examination is conducted by an approved aviation medical examiner, while the Examinations are conducted by the DGCA. After passing these exams, the candidate is issued a Commercial Pilot License.
Once the license is obtained, the candidate can apply for jobs with airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and other aviation-related companies. Pilots may also seek employment with the Indian Armed Forces or fly charter flights.
In conclusion, becoming a commercial pilot in India after 12th requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Aspiring pilots must complete the 12th grade, pass the medical and DGCA-approved examinations, and complete an approved Commercial Pilot Training Course. After gaining the license, they can apply for job opportunities with airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and other aviation-related companies.
